I Forget Who I AmA Story by Christine Peters
I got the Internet on my PC, Smart-phone and television.
I somehow through the many years have joined up with many organisations:
'YouTube', 'Facebook', 'Twitter' and 'Skype'.
I also got my banking, my many utility services including my mobile phone company.
It all began so easy., I logged on each time with the same details and passwords.
I had it written down in my little black notebook.
Then they said., “NO, NO!" don't use the same password every-time!”
So I changed them and added it to my little black notebook.
Then they said, 'You're password is unsafe! Use numbers, letters higher and lower case!”
So I changed them again and added it all to my little black notebook.
They still said it was unsafe, “Use memories or even song titles or lyrics that come to mind!”
So I changed it and updated my little black notebook.
My little black notebook is now so full up. Things entered, crossed out, entered again and again crossed out and re-entered.
I might have even added a few other things like some questions they asked; mother's maiden name, first school attended. Street where you were brought up and it goes on and on.
Now, when I so suddenly have to produce my name, email address and password.,
I am all at sea.,
I leaf through my little black book and it is all so strange to me.,
I suddenly have to click on 'Forgot username and password'
I simply have now forgotten who I am!
