It's Just Another Day

It's Just Another Day

A Story by Christine Peters

I wake up -

Heck it's only five-thirty and the morning sun is struggling to get through.

It's to early to rise, so I must try hard to sleep on..,

But the thought of a hot sweet cup of tea soon forces me from my bed.

I turn on my television. Lots of latest news but also many adverts threatening that if I do not take out a funeral plan, my family will hate me forever.

I get washed at my sink and clean my teeth.

Hell knows why for I am going nowhere today.

I need to toilet - it's a big moment of my day,

But much of that time is spent with only hardcore e-motions.

It's now twelve o'clock.

Time to eat.

The Supermarkets have meals for families, for two or just one.

I just have a meal for a sad-one that I hate but must eat something for life's-sake.

My dinner goes ping and I sit down to eat and watch a TV game-show.

I know most of the answers because I have lived far too long.

I look at my television magazine to see what other delights I have to look forward to.,

Nothing so special on my fifty million selection on subscription TV.

I take an afternoon nap (mainly to kill most of the day).

I wake up only to find that the postman has called and has left me tons of junk mail to add to my disposal stack.

I slump back in my chair. Check the clock. I only have six more hours to go before I can escape back to bed again.

I have great contacts with the Internet, Email and a Smart Phone., but all often remain dormant unless I get a contact for PPI, double glazing or when things get real exciting - " a penis enlargement!".

O' why did I not join a gang when I had the chance., to become a drug baron or team up with people like the Krays. I missed my chance by not joining in with the 'right' people.

At ten, I go to bed. Curl up in my duvet and have sweet dreams.

What a day., and all I gotta do is follow the same tomorrow.

Pretty soon it will be next week and then next year.

Aint life really worth looking forward to.
