![]() Windows 10 Sucks!A Story by Christine PetersBack in the day, they used to call it 'Personal Computers' (PC).
Nowadays and since the Internet, it has come so far from that.
I had my computer hand-built with Windows 7 installed. I was so happy with that.
Over the last couple of years I first had Windows 10 invading me and inviting me to install. I declined each offer but then suddenly without my request, Windows 10 was downloaded onto my computer during my sleeping hours and without my consent.
Subsequently, I have nothing but problem over problem ever since. First it made obsolete many of the programs I had recently installed. It removed my chances of checking out 'My PC' and making any changes within all my drives or hard-drives that I wished to access. I slowly became so limited with what I could do with my so-called 'personal computer'.
Worse still, was the so many updates that not only removed things that I was slowly getting used to, but often took hours to download and worse still left me with a blank screen that often took even more hours to finally boot up.
I used to attend my computer like in the old days of Windows 7, '98 and even before to take care of important matters, only to receive a message that Windows 10 is uploading and do not turn off my computer " and this went on for hours until a blank screen that went on for even longer.
By then I had lost the complete thread of why I wanted to log-on.
Last time log in., I switched on my computer and it said as usual that Windows 10 is downloading new updates. It took almost two hours. After my screen went blank and remained so for at least three and a half hours. My own computer screen allowed me no messages but my TV/PC screen informed me that Windows had failed to load. My only option was to choose re-install to take me back to when I first purchased my machine.
I had no choice but to instigate that.
At first, I thought great as it would take me back to Windows 7. But alas no, it took me back to when Windows 10 first invaded my computer. Which basically means, I have just got to go through it all again and again.
Now listen here.., this is my 'personal computer' in which I alone should have all rights to decide what occurs or is downloaded on my machine. Apart from Windows 10 that I have been told will cost me money to revert back to Windows 7, I still have invasion on my computer from all other outside interest, from adverts or otherwise via mostly my email etc., in which I appear to have no control over unless I purchase certain software that never works anyway and requires updating every year.., and when I do want to install any software it refuses me because I am not the so-called 'Administrator'!
I now ask, when did the concept of 'Personal Computer' ever dissolve and if not me., who is now in charge of my home computer? © 2017 Christine Peters |
