I had an interesting day today.

Monday is my big shop day come rain or shine. This morning it rained and it rained so heavily.

Being ex-military and having a positive mind that says, 'One can get no wetter than wet', I decided not to cancel my Monday morning venture.

As calculated as one can be, though dressed and ready to go, I kept an eagle eye-watch from my window to wait for that one moment when the heavy rain would ease off.

I was so right to choose. There was a lull in the consistent heavy rain that encouraged me to take fast venture on my earlier plans. Though the skies above were still dark and threatening there did still appear to be a good moment where possibly God was on my side.

So, I ventured out on my mobility scooter to do my big shop. It was still raining but very light. I figured I could get up there and back way before the heavens opened up once again.

All was going well., I got to the store, did my big shop and ventured back home again with hardly a drop of rain falling upon me. Yet just mere yards from my home and in complete comfort I trundled on through a pavement area that had encouraged a very large puddle. An oncoming car came speeding through and showered me from head to foot with such a gigantic splurge of heavy cold water.

I suddenly halted in shock of such an event but the whole thing did not anger me but instead just took me back to one of many of Harry Enfield's old sketches..,

'Oh Bugger!'

I cannot feel so bad about this because a good few years ago I did the very same to one young child on his way to school. I guess it's true., what goes around, comes around.

Would be really magic if that driver who soaked me was that same child I also soaked back then.
