Holocaust

Holocaust

A Poem by Christine Peters

Imagine that they made you a top commander.

Fantastic uniform, power over many,

Fine home and all you could ask for.

Then they asked you to kill!

Slaughter the weak and even innocent children.

How would your grand uniform then suit.,

Soaked in others blood!

There is no excuse for what they did.

May you all who was involved in this atrocity " not just Germans, and maybe got away with it.,

May you all go to Hell!

We must never forget what happened....we must ensure nothing remotely close to this ever happens again. What a powerfully intense write this is. So timely with Holocaust remembrance day this week. Lydi**

You recognised Holocaust Day, Christine, and with a clear voice. How true your words, how graphic.

Was the worst tragedy .. a black cloud over the heads of what was and is called Civilisation. And to think that there are moves to cut down its full details in the UK History syllabus.
