Who am I?

Who am I?

A Poem by Christine Peters
"

Who am I?

"

You do not really know me.

You only see what I want you to see.

Beneath that, I lie.

You only see what I want you to see.

I am so great in portraying illusions.

I can be anybody I wish to be, except me.

You are so easily fooled because you are making up your own life.

We can all get away with not being who we truly are.

Though time will tell when we all fall short of not really living our lives to the full.

If I cannot fulfill my life to the truth - be as I am - be me, then,

I might as well not be born at all!
