A Parting Thought

A Parting Thought

A Poem by Christine Peters
"

More prose from my future planned book

"

I wrote this next piece after breaking up from a very long relationship. I needed some healing so came to this. It also serves well for losing any loved one and has been used once at a funeral for one's mother.

A Parting Thought

It is so strange that most of the events in our life bear so little meaning or importance whilst in occurrence, yet hold that much more dear when bound by time. It seems that the fruits of our existence is in the quiet reflection, like in putting down a good book and sweetly digesting each single contentment, as if the book were just a few meaningful sentences, our lives can be just the same, but in mere moments.

Maybe, it will be then that we will reflect and hold the meaning of our togetherness that much more dearly " when the fruits of our time have risen and separated from the turmoil of our memory. When we hope that we will have understood more from our own darkness " more about ourselves, each other and life itself.

Maybe, it will be then that we will reflect and hold the meaning of our togetherness " when hard visions have been softened by time. So lets digest in our sadness and fulfil it along with the joys of our memory. For even in imperfection there lies a beauty for it holds a uniqueness of its own magic.

Then let neither of us part with no more than a sweet contentment. Let not cold nor saddened heart cover our memories. Like as in a strange place once seen but not revisited " worse than the parting be our never meeting.

Like the book, lets cherish those moments, each one singled by time. As a ship be it part of our journey and as important as the wind in our sail.

No matter what lies behind in our adventure, let it all still hold true in its valued experience..,

Then let the parting..,

Be of the same.
