Before the Rain BeganA Poem by Angela MulleyNight aside from mid of day, as dawn is to the gloaming. But how come they, how away, if they had not legs for roaming? Near and far, far and wide; time--you see, is bigger than the sky. In days before the rain began, someone saw it coming; chasing rainbows as he ran, from the beat of big drops drumming. Someone dreamt of that light creeping thither in the night would wake the birds, turn black clouds grey, where the rain, hidden lay.
