Wiggle Beneath the Wire

Wiggle Beneath the Wire

A Poem by Angela Mulley

If, stood on the edge of town

you looked out across the land

where mountains resembled specks,

the sun a grain of sand.

I could lay my head upon a cloud

wave to birds way in the sky.

-And as you moved I suddenly found

you wiggle beneath the wire.

Further in the distance,

between the sky and sea

you turned into a mountain,

did you look for me?

did you see grains of sand

as you went along your way

did you hold them in your hand,

see the cloud were my head lay?
