Ode to a Butterfly

Ode to a Butterfly

A Poem by Angela Mulley

I see the laughter
flit across grass. Over,
up, about, as if autumn
leaves had flown their branch.
Silently weaving her route.

A million hearts set
upon the sky, wings
of delight. I hope she sees
this ode to a butterfly,
as up, down, she sways in flight.

On this summer day we write,
in the shade, she brings her light.
Then up, over hills once more,
In my life, out through the door,
heads over to waters stream,
in my eye now there's a gleam.

Very beautiful picture of a butterfly flitting about you've created in your poem.
