![]() Spring ThawA Poem by Angela Mulley![]() Sonnet![]() Earth gleams among vapourous curves of light, Mirrors the blackbird as she grooms her wings. Until the purpling sky she turns in flight, While buds shiver in the shallows of spring, And give to all beneath her such a fright, That they flee her shadow until the thaw. A few times I have walked this path before, To tremble in the eve of a mornings plight, A few times have I seen with my own sight, Her weaving dust with her wings into plains, As Phoebus creeps his glow into my veins. Skin and bone, and frost and thorn, ochre bound. Ochre stones and earth, dewdrops splash the ground, A breath of life onto worlds of their own. © 2011 Angela MulleyReviews
