Light in an Empty Room

Light in an Empty Room

A Poem by Angela Mulley

Light beams through windows of
an empty room. Thirsty wick.
It seeks her grace as
another slips through the crack.
Warm onto cold. The Rain slides

to reveal shadows
of faces unknown. Dark to
light. Like elements
of flesh and bone. And in the
distance, the recepticals

ignite. Yet still, there
are none to ask when.  None to
ask why. And no-one
really to say, just how it
is it came to be that way.
