Ragged Doll

Ragged Doll

A Poem by Christine Marie Friend
"

I wrote this 20 years ago for the first girl I ever fell in love with. I never saw her again until 14 years later. Now we are married. Such is life.

"
Ragged doll, Ragged Doll staring into the glass
Not much of a future
not much of a past
Track marks scar her once flawless skin
The pain goes away as the needle goes in
Subconsious suicide, painful and slow
Nowhere to turn, and nowhere to go
Ragged doll, Ragged doll why do you cry?
Step away, my dear, do not die
Life's been hard, cruel and rough
Making your facade stony and tough
But inside you, a child, cries in the night
Desires something more, to not lose the fight
Ragged doll, Ragged doll the pain will subside
I will take you away, together we'll hide
From the apathy and coldness we've both seen
From the mental wounds and the thoughts unclean
Take my hand, my childe, and fear no more
I have loved you forever, down to my core
Ragged doll, Ragged doll never let go
I have dreams to spare, and sights to show....

Just a normal girl, well slightly manic-depressive, geeky and odd. In the plus side, I'm married to the greatest girl in the world! more..
