![]() Slumber SerenadeA Poem by Ourebro.![]() A poem about nighttime dreams and the effect of nocturnal ambience on one's imaginings.![]() The low sigh and heave of night sifts in past the mosquito mesh Of the window you left open. Cricket composers and their ranks of assorted foot soldiers Ready the steady, gentle trumpets for Whatever reverie you’ve now Slipped off to, removed from The quotidian rhythm of your domestic cage's heating, plumbing, insulation. Freely one may now explore warped avenues, alleys, empty city buildings Careening so mighty above They disappear into a firmament of mind conjured from Tidbit, remembrance, stitched crumbs Of experience and encounter. It is reassuring to know That you are safe in wandering, With the thin screen letting in zephyr And orchestra, but holding firm against An all-consuming inky black. © 2025 Ourebro.Author's Note
