Voyager

Voyager

This is from a collection of poetry I'm working on with the theme "science"

Voyager

You’re a long way now

surpassing the heliosheath

twin avatars like eyes

in the cosmos constantly

scanning for someone

Units 1 and 2

soaring through endless interstellar

taking drive-by snapshots of heavenly bodies

with antennae akimbo

dish forever smiling

The billion-year message an

indestructible chronicle of civilization

emblazoned on your hull

a singing gold disc and pulsar map

discerning coordinates

All may be dust when

your voyage ends and

the last human song fades

with your eternal light

falling forever through stars
