The Taker of Names

The Taker of Names

A Poem by Ink of Grandeur

There is a longing where a void is filled,
I'm surrounded by glory yet I hunger still,
I know You engulf me in Your holy flame,
I quiver in splendor at the sound of Your name.

You'll always beseech me, honored as your flock,
As I unworthily bow to you rock,
Your rock, a foundation. That of your plan,
To save Your children by the pierce of your hand;
And to armor Your people becoming Your fleet,
Thanks to You, Lord, who put nails through Your feet.
Who lived only seeing chaos and pain,
and still loved us enough to let your body be stained.

Stained by our sin and stained by our fear,
Your love never ending is what draws us near.
We as His people carry all the world's shame,
Thank Him almighty, The taker of names.
