For the Love of Dawn

For the Love of Dawn

A Poem by Moon

Come with me to the woods before dawn,
To a place upside of a tree;
Before leaves are washed by the Sun's gold
And we forget what the Father told --
Before black softens to early-green.
Though bears the mark of a thousand tears
Upon the rough and wrinkled bough,
Shall fade in the light of footsteps bare
As we go on, for the woods are near;
The light is light and dark is dark.
We're headed for that sacred-birth,
To the milk-scented wood we'll go,
And splash in the mud of Mother Earth,
These years - you'll see. shelter no worth --
The path! -- The path!  All children know!
Come with me to the woods before dawn,
Come, walk with me and you'll see,
We should never tread a path unknown
When the rules are to hang from a tree.
