It's times like these I sit and paint the walls with colorful images of you

My eyes brush the lilac dress flowing like peaceful waters in the wind

Bare feet touching the soul of a place where you once danced

Platinum blond hues twirl and twist around in a ring of sunlight

Deep majestic blue glances pierce a dying heart with the beating of Life

A coy smile calls me into your intoxicating world of wondrous dreams

The wild flowers bloom from the hypnotic chords of an angelic tune

Ivory skin floats in mid-air in the defiance of gravity's hold

Slowly as you always do, you wave your hand motioning me to follow you

into the canopy of wispy white clouds I've painted to allow the light

to refract around your silhouette of unearthly beauty

Knowing I cannot follow

your hand touches your lips to say "I love you"

captured inside your outstretched hand

you drop it from above the descending clouds

landing into my heart

with the reassurance that you are here

forever

inside this maze that I call home.

Wow, what a wonderful expression of love (and perhaps just a hint of mournful obsession). While this is incredibly sweet, there is a melancholy undertone with it.
