New Mexico Skies

New Mexico Skies

A Poem by Chris Micha
"

Trying not to let the sun set for good.

"

New Mexico Skies

As the sun sets over New Mexico

So goes my heart into its night skies

Her mind is even farther gone than her body

That was set adrift on a hotel bed of lies

Thorns cover her heart now

To keep a so called "player" out

Yet his heart beats stronger for her than any other

Longing for her love like a Chihuahuan Desert drought

And it's dying

Parched from the lack of her affection

Lost wandering hot sands of time

Praying that she will finally give him some direction

So,

Let the rains come

Showering over his emotional pores

Letting his soul bloom

Into the skies where the Prairie Falcon soars.

Thank you, Crystal :)
So,
Let the rains come
Showering over his emotional pores
Letting his soul bloom
Into the skies where the Prairie Falcon soars.

A deeply symbolic and personal write. You have a lot of talent. My experience is that the prairie falcon flies above your head, telling you the answer lies within and not in the arms of another. But I do go one. Beautiful write.

Thank you, sir. That was a tricky line to pull off, so I'm glad you appreciated it!
Wonderful! As the sunsets over New Mexico, so goes my heart over the night skies. I can feel your heart sinking with this sunset. Lovely!

My pleasure ...Your works are simply great
Now here's another state I have to visit, while I had grown so comfortable in my little room
of square tiles, Roget thesaurus' and marginal internet connections...lol/
Supremely powerful and good image making my friend.

Thank you so much, Dana :)
very much intensity creeps into this piece, like thorn covering the pores of a rose that wants to love back, but finds a drought of feelings.

nicely done.

To sum me up is pretty easy. I love writing because it's therapy for my wayward soul. Although, I am by no means any good at it, I still put myself out there. I use to write when I was younger but gav.. more..
