Hate To Love Me

 

I could really use a pick me up

Like a cold breeze off an Icelandic shore

Kiss me and relieve this pain

Give me a shot of your elixir of Novocain

Set me free to be happy again

But hold me and keep me grounded

No one can cure this heart of mine

But you.

I woke up alone this morning

With tears on Crimson pillows

I lost your heart yesterday

And my grandmother's heart to Heaven today

I can still hear each one beat next to me

But I can't hear my own

My eyes burn of sulfur

As Life escapes through the portals of Hell

Heal me with your voice of reason

With

That laugh I love

That heart I love

Feed Heaven back into me with those sky blues

and release me back into you.

Alas, far too many of us are looking for ourselves in romantic and sexual adventures … or perhaps misadventures might be the optimum word use here;) As human beings we are stuck with duality … man owes woman and woman owes man our very existence. We are all infinitely flawed and as such showing each other as much compassion as possible is the only medicine to ease the suffering our flaws may bring. this is such a beutifully depressingly beautiful poem... after reading i literally said "aweeee...." because i put myself in the shoes of this person and could feel how much love they were wanting, but hurt for them, knowing that they weren't getting the same love in return.
