Invisible Words

Invisible Words

A Poem by Chris Micha
"

Sometimes speaking words makes you feel invisible.

"

Invisible Words

I'm not sure what to do with these left over words

I was going to permanently entwine into your conscious fabric

Along with the others that had been laid with sincere adoration

That was creating the foundation for your heart.

I was going to build you a citadel out of them

That would have stood atop infinity's grounds

But I was building around an unsecured wall

That had already been constructed

with wishful bricks of yesteryear.

Your heart is covered in another's unattached words

That my words attach to and fall off

Leaving scattered loud words of guarantees

Under words whispered in maybes.

I guess I'll save these words for a rainy day

When someone's heart is ready to be constructed

With reciprocal words of love & affection

So it may shine with the life it deserves.

Too often powerful words are often overlooked and or underplayed by those we care/love. This poem possessed a profound simplicity, I especially like
" Your heart is covered in another's unattached words
That my words attach to and fall off", and "I was going to build you a citadel out of them
That would have stood atop infinity's grounds", beautiful.

This seems sad, and a love triangle of sorts, but might I say, a really good poem and a great title and use of font for impact.

Thank you KL. I am glad you liked it and as always I'm honored!
I'm sorry you feel this way. You deserve all of the love that you have for this person. I'm sure she appreciates you, I'm sure she doesn't want to lose you as a friend, I'm sure she is just confused and needs to figure things out. You are a great guy, never settle for less than you deserve. 💋

Thanks doll!! This truly means a lot!
I love how the IN have like a fairytale beginning to them with the big letter then the small. That's what hit me first, begging to me, come in, you must read. And boy, am I glad I did. This is something else Batman - You have woven words and emotion together so beautifully. Being in love with someone who's heart belongs to another can be hard and difficult to deal with. You blew me away... Woweeee.

This is something really unique. I never thought of the word invisible to be like that, but somehow, it works with flawless logic. A very amazing poem.

Hikari, I am honored ma'am. Thank you for your wonderful review doll! :)
This poem, to me, captures the idea of unrequited love.
"Your heart is covered in another's unattached words

That my words attach to and fall off

Leaving scattered loud words of guarantees

Under words whispered in maybes."

I see someone in love with a person that is already taken and being wooed by another. An interesting concept, words that are invisible. I usually don't think of verbalized words as being "seen." However, the way you described them as "building a citadel" made it work. You captured this person's loneliness splendidly!

Well done, again. There is nothing more frustrating than to have the object of your affection and feelings ignore them, not reciprocate them. You captured that well here.

Crystal, thank you for your wonderful review. I really appreciate it! :)
Hi Christian, I just finished Reading this Poem. It was Brilliant as Always! It was very Heart-felt, and full of so much Meaning, as is Always. I Love the Line that said,"I was going to Build a Citadel Out of Them. That would Have Stood Atop of Infinity's Grounds." To Me it symbolizes Unending Love that is always continual, and any effort would be Made for That Love. Honestly the whole Poem was Excellent. I Loved this Poem as all the Others.
