Who Are You?

Who Are You?

A Poem by Chris Micha
"

Self exploration

"

Photo: Behind eyes of desired breathe
You stand front and center
Images of you radiate inside
Every thought that defies logic.

Who Are You?

Complex transparency

                 Hiding in plain view

                                Silent restraint

   Unbeknownst to the world

            Wasted occupant of space

                                   The suit does not fit

             The smile is not real

                                  Wake up sleepy head

                     Stop dreaming

Reality is painted

         With tears

                  Fear is your reaper

                           Holding you captive

Who do you think you are

                          Walking dead?

        Life is not over

If you knew how to start it

Do you know where you are?

                                   Who you are?

Or does the world make that decision for you?

                   Each frame can be altered

                                     Dissected and re-arranged

It can be painted any color

                         You are the animator

       You direct the source

                         It's push and pull

               Of tug of war

Can be won

If you so choose to accept the challenge

                               So I ask again

             Who are you?

Very cool. Rather insperational. Lot's of people loose touch with themselves as the progress through life. Its rare to find someone who has an opinion that they stand up for because THEY believe in it. Amazing pen Christian. Loved the visuals you created with your words! :)

Thank you my dear friend, Noel.
I think this is my favourite piece of writing I have read of yours to date. It is a great, emotional, thoughtful poem. One minor thing. Its has no apostrophe when It is possessive.

Ah you always catch my errors ha. Thank you so much my friend!
Chris, I like this...It's deeply introspective and philosophical. I think everyone can relate to this poem. I think everyone asks themselves at least some of these questions a time or two. Nice write!

Thank you so much!!! :)
This reminded me of something.
You know how in movies, or books, or whatever, they describe that moment when you're barely conscious, and then it's like you float above your physical body and stare at yourself? I don't know if that makes sense to you, but this feels like one of those moments. It's like you're talking to yourself. Internal conversation.
Self talking to self:
"If you so choose to accept the challenge
So I ask again

Who are you?"

Wow, Christian. I don't think I can say anything better than what has already been said. We don't always have control. Sometimes it feels as though we are losing our grip on life. The best you can do is be who you want to be and to walk the path you want to go.
These were my favorite lines because they hold so much truth. xo (:

"Reality is painted
With tears
Fear is your reaper
Holding you captive"

So true my dear! We can only be the best we can and try to live the best life possible! ;)
A few simple words like "who are you?" have no simple explanation. Does anyone really have an answer as we wrap our identity in what we do for a living, who we share our lives with or how we spend our free time? For me, it's so much more than that. But the answer changes too, according to the moment in time, the situations we are in and whatever we are facing. Your opening line is an excellent paradox and you use the same technique again with "life is not over if you knew how to start it". Nicely done. Penny

Thank you sweet, Emily! :)
See, our life is like a movie but we can't always say where we are going to go or what we're going to do. Sometimes we have no say at all and other times we control. I really loved this write, it was full of heart and truth. You are very talented, Batman. I'm a huge fan.

To sum me up is pretty easy. I love writing because it's therapy for my wayward soul. Although, I am by no means any good at it, I still put myself out there. I use to write when I was younger but gav.. more..
