Key to the Universe

Key to the Universe

I

Key to the Universe
.....by Christian Gallagher

If they only knew...

...that I possess within me, the key to the universe
They would torment my mind with their affliction
To gain access to the power from her beautiful untapped potential

She possesses a magical mystical gift
That can change the chemistry of the hearts & minds of every man
Her imagery alone can send time in a tailspin
He's always trying to stop to take her with him
But she resists time after time

She harnesses the light of a trillion suns
That radiates through her electric-blue eyes

A billion hearts would stop, just to beat for her once

Her words will whip a man's brain into a frenzy
Causing sanity to take off on a beautiful crazy journey

They would risk it all for just one memory

To be one deep exhaled breath from her lungs.

And here I am...

...a man with a secret

The secret of where the key exists
That's locked away in a place where no one will find it
A place it will wait, until the universe is in front of me

Then I shall open up the lock and walk into this enchanted mystical place
Where I will close the door and lock her from the men who give chase

I can imagine the unseen beauty, the walls of gorgeous graffiti it displays
Any cracks or holes will be repaired with my untold love
Nurtured with my soul I have opened to roam free within

Light any stars that have dimmed and give them life again
Be the caretaker of this vastly expanding universe
The guardian that will serve and protect her most guarded secrets

Most of all I would live happy inside this universe
And stand tall & proud
In the center of it.

If you have the key to your universe, hide it forever, never let it go, and always remember where it is. Many of us are looking for the very same key, and many of us will not find it, and often do not deserve it. The most important thing when you have the key is to pay attention to the entry, because the lock will be changed it the door is neglected. Great write, It really made me think. Thank you.

Erika must be really beautiful to be pictured like that. This poem is put together in an interesting way with the blue and red pieces sectioned off and the blue is more about the woman and the red more about the poet... the "And here I am" bringing the two sections together was clever. Overall I liked it.

That's a great pic. This could be a short story, as it has all the elements. You create suspense really well and allow the character to unfold gradually. You have written some truly romantic lines too, like "She harnesses the light of a trillion suns, That radiates through her electric-blue eyes" and "Any cracks or holes will be repaired with my untold love". Great cosmic theme and loving intentions. Nicely done :) Penny

About
To sum me up is pretty easy. I love writing because it's therapy for my wayward soul. Although, I am by no means any good at it, I still put myself out there. I use to write when I was younger but gav.. more..
