The Gift
A Poem by
Chris Micha
The gift that is most precious.
When I die I want to be...
A raindrop that falls into to stillness of a lake
To ride the subtle rippling waves to the shore
The whisper of wind amongst the trees
That tickles them with magical animation
The first
ray of light from the Sun
That radiates a baby's smile
The nighttime dreams of a slumbering child
That sparks limitless imagination to change the world
The chemical of love tasted upon the lips
Of a couples timid first kiss
But most of all I want to be the gift that was given to me
Life.

You are so one with the subject, and nature in this beautiful piece.
There is all, and nothing, when we die, and also when we are alive,
You have woven poetry here like all is one, and it's a rich philosophy.
Very lovely, tender, deep, reaching out, and utterly artistic.
"Beyond is the word".
Wonderful poetry.

It is just so lovely and pure. I don't know if that makes sense to you, but this poem, and it's not that it's
"beautiful", this poem just totally hits me with it's... purity. I'm blown away, remembering that this is here, this is now, my situation might be bad, but I'm ALIVE. LIFE. It most certainly is "the gift that is most precious."

This is magical, turning the normally feared subject of death into a beautiful experience. Great writing!
