gone

gone

A Poem by chr66is
"

About being invisible.

"

to be a ghost,

to me, the most

imaginary thing.

a memory lost,

the harshest cost,

the innocence of being.

a senseless crime,

my sense of time

disordered with intent.

and since that time

attempts to climb

have hastened my descent.

so simple then

to settle in,

a chore to contemplate,

that thoughts within

cannot begin

to overturn my fate.

You call this fate....the state of being invisible, or blending into the background.
Senseless crime...something happened to the you of the write, and now feels like the best thing to do is disappear?
I like this in the fact that it makes me think.

you know - i am jealous of your simple ability to rhyme in such a way as not to come across smarmy or false.. i can't say that rhyming is a technique i have mastered, but then, that just isn't how i write. you are one of the very few who have made me NOT roll my eyes.. it is gentle, and well thought out, and falls perfectly into the form of your poetry..
