Slip

Slip

A Poem by chr66is
"

???

"

Where's the safety net

when you want to freefall from reality,

and get caught up in the dizziness

of children's games?

We certainly weren't meant for

everything we've brought about,

as if we could possibly dictate

the parameters of our experience,

so naively presumptuous in all our hubris.

Intelligence is folded into dusty stacks

and filed away in spacious drawers,

or crammed into USB ports,

feeding information into vital equations

of existence that ejaculate nuggets of

meaningless nothingness, but are interpreted

as what's in store for us unless we

stop our children's games

and begin to devour impassable

chunks of shared and determined reality,

and work our days away like Sisyphus

for our token gold watches.

I'm not so sure of who is right

and who's not sane,

or if these terms can be said to truly

apply to anything anymore.
