don't go

don't go

A Poem by chr66is

he's drunk, she's afraid,

her decision has been made,

for years this cycle's been played out,

sacred vows have been betrayed,

inside her head she wants to shout,

but doesn't dare, she's filled with doubt,

violence and abuse won't fade,

she doesn't know what it's about,

a happy life has been portrayed,

her pain not publicly displayed,

the time has come, she's figured out,

that plans for her escape are laid,

but once again she's been delayed,

as his old games are being played,

horrific threats, his only clout,

her execution has been stayed.

Beautiful yet taunting,
happy yet torturing.
You, my friend, have a way with words.
