with you

with you

A Poem by chr66is

Lying in the darkened bedroom with you in

my arms, your body conformed to mine like

two ends of a twist-tie, a narrow, illuminated strip

pries through a small gap in the blinds from the

streetlight outside and rests diagonally on top of the

covers.  I can feel your warmth all up my side,

your hair flipped off your face and hanging on

my shoulder, the soft skin of your face mingling

with the sensation of your steady, sleeping

breath against my neck.  I think of you and my

heart swells to twice its size, and I know that I

am in the presence of my other half, that we

fit together like two pieces of a crazy jigsaw

puzzle that we don’t understand.  In that moment,

there is nothing else.  Everything I need is right

next to me.  I feel true bliss and let go of

everything except my love for you, truly

dwelling in those sacred moments.

I really loved that. It was moving. Love poems are the best when you find the right words and man you found them i almost started to tear reading that. I pictured every moment by just reading the words the comparisons oh wow. Nicely done

the structure is something that works. set out like a piece of prose, yet read like a poem works and gives more direction and intent to this piece.
