Richard Feynman's Famous Inverse Flow Water Sprinkler Experiment

“Counterclockwise,” Bekenstein declared. “Clockwise,” Wheeler countered. Princeton physics professors debated which direction two armed lawn sprinklers would turn should water be forced into the nozzles instead of out.  Feynman escaped the symposium, snuck into the lab, set up an experiment and proved them all wrong.  Water pressure built up in the motionless sprinkler exploding it.
