Margin of Error
A Story by Chopstix
A young copy editor fails to read his boss's expressions after 2012's Iowa Caucuses.
“Boss, I found a copy error. ‘The narrowest of margins’ should read, 'Narrowest margin to date,’ or ‘The narrowest margin yet.’”
“I like the first one better.”
“It implies no possible narrower margin.”
“So?”
“Simple math. One is less than eight.”
“Does it really matter?”
“Absolutely.”
“Fine!”
“So, I’m right?”
“You’re right, and you’re fired!.” |

for 55 words you made a little scene quite visible to read. i think it has a fullness to it that made it fun to see how the ending would turn out. funny
