Love is Never Invincible

Love is Never Invincible

A Poem by Sleepless
"

more crap. hmm,,,, i am so bored.

"

I'm done trembling, finished loving, tired of dying.

The rain slowly wears away at your memory,

distorting the image on the tattered canvas.

Only a faded mess of colors and emotions

is left to unravel in my careless arms.

With every thread taken from our unity

My own beauty grows a little stronger, a little brighter.

Together we were a mess of shards

Collapsed in our false embrace.

Somehow I've fallen through your arms

All I feel is the cold marble floor.

People stare through me -- the broken hearted are invisible

They don't want to see what they refuse to believe.

Love's not invincible, lovers die, time slips by

Through our open  hands, like grains of sands.

Excellent, sharp imagery; a believable, FEEL-able emotional core...my only jot of confusion was with that line about your beauty growing stronger...? maybe i'm not catching the drift. overall, though, great piece. love the last 2 lines
