A Day at SchoolA Poem by chiyonatsunine of ten. a semi-poetic read through of my average day of school.
First period, I am tired,
But very pleased to be there. I love my class with all my soul And find Chinese so intriguing. I linger for a moment, Wondering what she thinks. If she doesn’t need me, I go ahead and leave. Second period is a drag, Running all for nothing. No rhyme or reason, In the name of gym. Third period’s an ordeal, lighted by a teacher. The others have tugged her to the end of her rope, And English students call me a stuck-up. Fourth period is a joy, with guest appearances by First. Theatre is my bliss. I finally know a home where I do belong. But fifty minutes isn’t nearly long enough. Then there’s lunch, Which depends on the day. But Laura’s by my side She’s the light to my dreary day. Chemistry and physics, A double dose of ouch. It’s all so elementary, I begin to lose touch. Somewhere in the hall, some days, between periods five and six I find the little willow of a woman, Who seems to be so fragile. I try to see her smile. Sixth period, Geometry The lowest point of my day. My grades are bad, morale is low, But Lacey’s there to stay. Creative Writing, where I find my nook. They say they like my style. Some may think I’m overboard, But at least I can make them listen. After school, on most days, Rehearsal calls my name. Productions aren’t so easy, But the laughs are beginner’s play. © 2012 chiyonatsu |
