Devils Dark Day...4/01/23

Devils Dark Day...4/01/23

A Poem by chuck

There is something in the wind tonight.
Discarded paper and leaves are chased through the streets relentlessly.

Houses seem to moan in the breeze. Animals take cover.
The afternoon has sharp teeth that bites into the skin.

And someone up in heaven carelessly smoking cigarettes,
left the skies grey and overcast.
On the sidewalks no one could
take their shadows for a walk.
Locked up in thier houses, feeling the gloominess of the day.

This is the devil's day. No one understands why it happens.
The trees split their sides laughing so hard.
They celebrate the cold hard wind that keeps you indoors.
The birds in the trees all seek refuge knowing
that the devil's eyelashes are curled today.
