Ireland's Oldest Leprechaun...

Ireland's Oldest Leprechaun...

A Poem by chuck

The legend of the Leprechaun from
the land across the sea
You can find him on the Emerald Isle
in his suit of clover green

They say if you catch a Leprechaun, and
then you set him free
He will have to grant 3 wishes, what
would your wishes be?

Leprechauns are hard to catch, they hide in caves and rabbit holes
Cobblers by trade, they dance so much their shoes have worn out soles

It's said that Leprechauns drink Irish Whiskey every single night
They may be tiny creatures, but they can handle any fight

On my very last trip to Dublin, I caught the oldest Leprechaun of all
He was wrinkled and several centuries old, stood only 3 feet tall

I captured him and then let him go and he granted me 3 wishes
He gave me gold, he gave me fame and
one million angel kisses

I'll never forget that Leprechaun and the stories that he told
He took me to the end of the rainbow
and gave me a pot of gold

So, to this day I go and pray at the
Catholic Church in town
And I celebrate the day I caught
Ireland's oldest Leprechaun
