Play me a tune about losin and winnin
Any old song about what's right or wrong
But please don't play me another love song

Alone at the bar with my cheap cigar
And a heart full of I. O. U. s
Livin' through another if and when
Feeling alone and confused

I'm still not believin
The night you were leavin
You said I'd get over you
The words are all wrong
In every love song
None of them seem to be true

My friends keep saying; love will happen again
All I need is the answer to if, where, and when
Why does it seem I did everything wrong
Please don't play me another love song
