When a song touches your soul, captures you heart
Its not just a song, its a work of art
Full of meaning and feelings that pour from your soul
a warm inner light the lyrics control

Poems, prayers, and promises
and things that we believe in
A story song from John Denver
it moves me from within

How sweet it is to love someone
How right it is to care
A story about his journey
and the loves he shared

How long its been since yesterday
what about tomorrow
He talks about the life he lived
without a word of sorrow

He writes, he'd like to sail away someday
and dance across the mountains on the moon
Turns him on to think of growing old
Tragically, he left us way too soon
