Labyrinth of Lies

Labyrinth of Lies

A Poem by Denni

In the labyrinth of lies

waits a beast with bloody teeth

glaring with its silver eyes

broken bones lay at his feet

“Come and venture if you dare,

wander through these halls.

seek the treasure in my lair,

dont get caught within these walls.”

Madly on the beast does rant

striving against his chains

on and on he speaks his chant

pulling and biting he strains

“Until the day that I am free,

and roam again the earth.

A deadly terror, I’ll seek thee,

your life will be the treasures worth

Now creature you have been warned.

So if you retain your brain

and you do not wish to be mourned,

quit this path, do not be vain.”

This is great! I love the rythm and the rhyme, it so very consistant and yet you don't seem to of had to sacrifice any bit of the poem to make it fall into order. It has such strong and simple language, I love it!
