Someday

 Someday I’ll meet you.

You will become my friend,

You will be the light in the dark,

Guiding me on through the night.

 

Someday I’ll love you.

You will be my air,

My reason to live.

My sole attachment to this world.

 

Someday I’ll be lead by you.

Away from the land that I once knew,

And into the unknown.

 

Someday I’ll need you.

You will be what I long for.

You will protect me when I am week.

 

Someday I’ll leave you.

All alone in this world.

No one to Guide,

No one to Light.

 

But you will know I loved you.

You will know I needed you.

And if I am lucky,

In another life.

You will have met me.

You will have needed me.

 

And maybe,

Just maybe.

You will have loved me.

There, as you do now.

 

Someday.
