[Farewell gesture]

[Farewell gesture]

A Poem by chimetime
"

A spoken word piece. Eulogy to the late Chester Bennington. I'll carry the sound man.

"
What I did for many years
is listen to music as it appears
but the song was not just G2s to G5s
but therapy bout stayin alive
at my lows, no therapist was right there right then
as it happened, no friend was right there right then
at the nos, no family was right there right then
but the songs made it all right, right there right then
There somewhere I belonged at somewhere I belong
A shadow of the day to keep the shadows at bay
Alas, for whatever demon known and unknown
Your hanging meant you couldn't handle it all on your own
And now, what's next?
likely soon enough you'll be erased
A rolling stone may gather no moss, but it never stays
And no matter the biopic, your legacy will not stick
Even now, from a Stan to the man, your light drowns
And frankly, what is to come has always looked dark
but it is not the darkness I fear, but the silence
For no matter the light or the dark
it is the song that brings us along
Now a full month from your death
I am unsure of even my next breath
but no baby duck talks without another flock
and no matter our formation, I'll continue the narration

I know how much his death must have hurt people. I wasn’t as big a fan as many I know, and yet I felt the sting. This is a great piece that circles around the idea of legacy in general, yet speaks so soundly to his legacy as well.

I like the repetition of right there right then, as well as the incorporation of Linkin Park songs.
Nice read
