Leaving Rainbows Behind

Leaving Rainbows Behind

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A short song that I wrote

"

Leaving Rainbows Behind

Never knew that you’d walk out of my life

Before I looked away,

Never thought to say goodbye

Now you’re gone and all I do is cry

But that’s okay…

On cloudy days it rains

That’s when I look out the speeding train

Tears seem to fall as

I watch your back get small

Soon your memory will disappear

Your image won’t seem so tall

Crying won’t be my career

You’ll fade away from the corners of my mind

Leaving rainbows behind

Just thinking about how even the most painful things fade with time. There's always a rainbow close behind.

A colorful life gives way to a life of contemplation and then perhaps to a life of achievement. From living in the city, when one returns to a walk in the pastoral life, one doesn't feel welcome anymore, only a vague familiarity. The experience of the colors, with its high excitability is for the young. The world grows older each day, someday perhaps it may return to the trees. Nice write!

It is always darkest before the dawn... When we give it time yes pain does fade away. Very nicely written.

The further we move from a painful situation the less often it haunts us and rainbows get in the way after a while. A very sad emotional poem but a really good one.

A sad poem. To watch someone walk away from us can leave sadness only. Tears could create rainbows. Thank you for the excellent poem.

This actually made me feel better in the situtation I am in, sometimes we think we are stuck in one place in pain, and that we will never be able to move on or away. I love the flow of this, and it's positivity it gains. It's like a hilly train ride.
Beautiful job~
