Oh, How I BleedA Poem by Marie HarrisonA horror poem of betrayalOh, How I Bleed In the
darkness of your wretched heart’s throbbing shadow Lurked
a leering secret life of vile deception One of
a sinister nature directed straight towards me Even
though we shared the same comforting abode for many years And
slept soundly in the same downy bed I felt
this ominous thick grey cloud of danger hover above me As I
slept and during my waking hours too Your repugnant
hatred for me boiled in your eyes Would
constantly haunt me and cause me to even watch my back at times Yet I
never heard a hint of hostility transparent in your words It’s
only in the coldness of your touch on my bare skin The
violent force and ravage hunger of your body for mine Devoid
of any warmth or humanity But
life shifted quickly like an earthquake in the night The ghastly
night you held me tight in your arms grip With a
jagged knife’s blade pressed Against
the pulsing main artery of my neck The evil
words of betrayal you whispered softly in my ear How
pleased you were when I gave You
the antique hunting knife for Christmas That
very cold December morning of our honeymoon you knew Just
how you would use it against my neck one day To
finally cut me out of your life forever Oh,
how I bleed! © 2011 Marie HarrisonAuthor's Note
