Band-Aids

Band-Aids

Band-Aids

Inspired by the intoxication of a live performance

Taking a rocky joy ride on the wild side of life

Touring distant lands with the band

All night love binges and

Sharp syringes punching

Holes in our arms

We're here for a carefree good time,

Living the life most people

Strive to dream of now and then

The buzz is worth the fuzz on

Our clothes and the strikes against

Our reputations

Seeing the world through new filters

Stimulates our imaginations

Feeling the live music on stage

Night after night deep in our bones,

Takes us to a euphoric zone that

Few will ever capture on a recording

It's too steep for most people

To creep up to this pinnacle

Of the mountain, just for a

Single view of what we are

Blessed to see every day

We're not groupies,

We're not wives or girlfriends,

We're band-aids

I love the last stanza. One night stand = band aid. Perfect metaphor.

Oh the rush of a live show from a favorite artist is an ultimate high... it is there where troubles are easy to forget... I love the ending, very funny.

Is Band Aids a new word for Roadie?
Glad you lived to share the memory, my friend. Love the nostalgia.
