Blowing Sand

Blowing Sand

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

a poem about time

"

Blowing Sand

grain by grain,

time is blowing away

all of the best

is leaving me now

cell by cell

I'm blowing away too

time to run

time to play

time to pray

swimming in the ocean

holding hands

long bubble baths

long talks with God

cooking chicken marsala

laughing

long vacations

slow dancing

going home

black diamond ski runs

dinner conversation

kisses in the dark

long walks with my dogs

jogging in shorts when it's cold

chocolate covered cherries

lots of hugs

reading a good book by a fire

grain by grain

these are the things

I want to blow my sand on

these are things

that matter

to me

and

my

cells

I love the font, style and presentation in this wonderful poem of life and longing and its tidings of sand granules upon the shore!

the things to cherish and remember because its too easy to get blown away in the storm of life. Beautifully penned, and it was pleasure to read this. I love how you describe everything in this poem.

These are the things that make life pleasurable. The small moments are the ones that we will remember for a life time. The ones that made us feel joy. The ones that made us laugh. Good drinks, great friends and stunning moments.

You've scooped me up and blown me away with you :D

This was another magnificent piece from you...
The subtle flow in it amplified the power it evoked! There was so much to appreciate from this glimpse into your 'sands', it created a myriad of images as vivid and as pleasant as the mind could wish them to be.

This is a favorite from you Marie...and i'm deeply grateful for your mastery!

Thanks for this lovely piece/reminder of what we should want :)

FANTASTIC! And favourited.

Delightfully engaging imagery - "grain by grain / time is blowing away"; excellent use of speech rhythms. Consider using punctuation to guide the reader.

I find wisdom in this piece, after all I could be that grain of sand along the beach.
