Darkness Descends

Darkness Descends

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

poem of dark emotions

"

Darkness Descends

Black sorrow fills the deep

Cavern of my soul tonight

An unrelenting hollow emptiness sets in

Memories of happier days flash

By my mind’s eye

Questions unanswered ring in my ears

Deep breaths relieve an aching blue heart

Angel white words of

Promise bring yellow hope

Golden prayers for brighter pastel tomorrows

No fear of soaking in these dark emotions

Soon they’ll flutter away

Out of my window of grey

Absolutely amazing poem. Love the fact you used vivid yellow against the darkness that began turning light. Brilliant execution.

Wistful words that ache with remembered sorrows of times past. But still hoping for a brighter tomorrow..Well written Marie

I love the color of yellow, but this would be better in deep red like blood red. I also love the flow com words Android rich darkness in which it holds.

I love your use of the journey, I felt like, saddness is a train and you the track, as all journey's an end is always in sight, and the window of grey is the last stop before the light, well penned, a great read.
