Night WalkerA Poem by Marie HarrisonA poemNight Walker Wandering these
sidewalks of filth and crime
Turning tricks for
another hit of euphoria
Dropping one designer
pump on the corner of Ponce
The other under a
stranger’s front porch
Beside with your car keys
Squandering your life
for another
Shot of mind-bending heaven
Shards of glass cut
your delicate soft feet
Leaving red bloody
trails and clues
But your Master had
His own designs for
your life
Plans to prosper you,
to heal
Your wounds and heartaches
Using your brokenness
To relieve the pain of
others
You are a golden
seraph with
Long flowing locks of
flaxen to many
Bringing streams of
lightness
Into rooms of darkness
Invisible clouds of
peace embrace and protect you
Your sweet angelic
voice instantly lifts the hearts
Of the hopeless
dragged in from these lonely streets
Only divine mercy has
saved you from yourself
With one magical step
and eleven others
You stand as a pillar
of strength and
Humility to serve your
Master
Many lives night after
night you will save
