Pelagic Pleas

A Poem by Marie Harrison

Pelagic Pleas

Riptides force me down

Gasping for breath of flesh gain

Barnacles taunt me

Shark fins writhe and pitch

Mermaids of the sea circle

King Neptune redeems

A complete story in so few words. The ocean can create great story and myth. A very good ending to a excellent poem.
