Pelagic Pleas

A Poem by Marie Harrison

Pelagic Pleas

Riptides force me down

Gasping for breath of flesh gain

Barnacles taunt me

Shark fins writhe and pitch

Mermaids of the sea circle

King Neptune redeems

I feel the clour blue and the waves overhead, hear it all. Gorgeous.

The ocean can be tranquil and quiet as well as fierce and unpredictable.

Somethings fishy here.
Pelagic seas far from coast, rolling waves swallow me whole
