As We Part

As We Part

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A poem about separation

"

As We Part

Whisper my name to me as you leave

Your voice is all I wish to remember as I grieve

Look into my eyes, show me your love

All I wish to remember as your spirit floats above

You were my world

My pearl

My happiness swirl

Remember me after you depart

Forever you’ll have my heart

Love me as we part

Author's Note

Marie Harrison
I was thinking of my loved one when I wrote this poem, my Grandmother.
I wasn't with her when she died, but she meant the world to me.
I miss her everyday. I can feel her with me sometimes.
I felt her spirit brush past me the hour she died, not knowing of her death.
