As We Part

As We Part

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A poem about separation

"

As We Part

Whisper my name to me as you leave

Your voice is all I wish to remember as I grieve

Look into my eyes, show me your love

All I wish to remember as your spirit floats above

You were my world

My pearl

My happiness swirl

Remember me after you depart

Forever you’ll have my heart

Love me as we part

I was thinking of my loved one when I wrote this poem, my Grandmother.
I wasn't with her when she died, but she meant the world to me.
I miss her everyday. I can feel her with me sometimes.
I felt her spirit brush past me the hour she died, not knowing of her death.

A rather sad poem. I don't think any of us really want to be forgotten when we leave this world behind.

A beautiful and sad poem. Some people leave us with kind and sweet memories. I wish today 7 years after the lost of my Grandmother to hear her voice. "Sweetie, you will always be Grandma baby."
"You were my world
My pearl"
Thank you for the amazing poem of love and remembrance.

A really beautiful and heartfelt piece of write! I can truly feel the love you feel for your grandmother. Our loved ones is always with us, by our side. I'm sorry about your grandmother, but she'll understand. Although right now I didn't lose anyone really close to me, but I can imagine the pain of it...
Beautiful Write!

This poem hits close to home. I wasnt with my grandmother either when she passed. Sometimes I get into situations where I know she would have the perfect advice. I love this one.

I love this poem, the emotion here is striking. Is this a concrete poem? I can see a vase.
