A Mother's GriefA Poem by Marie HarrisonA poem about grief
A Mother’s Grief The death of a child For a Mother is never mild At night she wakes up in a panic Realizing her child’s life Has ended in a way that was tragic Tears roll down her face When she remembers him playing chase No matter what age the Child is when they die A Mother will always endlessly cry How can this happen to them? Who is responsible for these demands? Death is final for this Mom She’ll never see him grow up to be strong How can she survive this difficult circumstance? Now it will be hard to laugh or dance Joy may at times light up her face But in her heart there shall Always be a hollow space © 2011 Marie HarrisonAuthor's Note
